Position Overview
The Associate Director of Gift Processing is a key member of USDFAA’s Gift Administration team responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all charitable contributions. This role ensures donor gifts are recorded, receipted, and acknowledged with precision, in alignment with Foundation policies, IRS regulations, and audit standards.
This position is ideal for someone who values accuracy, process, and purpose turning attention to detail into meaningful impact that supports scholarships, programs, and the future of USD.
What You'll Do
- Process and record all gifts, pledges and donor updates accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain written documentation, policies and procedures for gift processing activities.
- Ensure compliance with cash handling, credit card, and gift acknowledgment policies.
- Prepare and distribute timely donor receipts, acknowledgments, and pledge reminders.
- Reconcile gift batches and transactions to ensure data integrity and audit readiness.
- Research and resolve complex contributions (EFT, credit cards, stock, matching gifts, payroll deductions, IRAs, etc.).
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across Advancement Services, Finance, and Development to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Respond to inquiries from donors, staff, and campus partners regarding gifts, funds, and records.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and donor service.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of experience in gift processing, banking, or nonprofit accounting.
- Strong understanding of charitable gift recording, IRS guidelines, and GAAP principles.
- Proficiency with donor database/CRM systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce NPSP, or similar).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Salary: Starting at $57.5K a year, based on experience.
